Creative Being Workshops

A unique opportunity to playfully engage with your innate creativity.
Within each of us resides a creative being; our very nature is a creative one. However, life can sometimes conspire to hold us back from the full expression of this. Through the Creative Being Workshop you will be guided and facilitated in relaxed, spacious and beautiful surroundings to open and explore the unique expression of your creative being. You can take the time away from the every day to nourish and playfully discover yourself in a lighthearted way free of mind and judgment. In a group of 6, you will be guided through a gentle process that has evolved over years of experience to encourage and celebrate your unique creative being. This process of opening your imagination to the unknown in a group environment allows for a deeper enquiry to develop and enhance your ability to approach the art of every day life, so life becomes an art. No art experience needed.

The studio is light, spacious and comfortably accommodates 6 people in beautiful wooded surroundings.

Artistic statement

I am as inspired by the natural world and life experiences as I am by the process of creating itself. I will comment on the mundane rhythms of domestic life or honour the beauty of a simple flower. When I create it is with an openness of heart to each mark and colour I choose to use. I actually have an active “inner-conversation” with each mark as it unfolds and reveals itself to me. While I am creating so is the process itself creating me. I favour the use of mixed media and tendency to use layers be it paint, tissue paper, plaster, cloth or glass. There are many media I have not yet explored though I fully intend to over the course of my life. I do not consider any area of my expressive creativity beyond my curiosity. About Me

I was born in Cairo, Egypt and grew up in various parts of Africa until I was 12 years old. My family are all artists; so working with creative energy is as natural for me as it is for a bird to fly. I did an art foundation at Blackheath School of Art and chose to go on to Chelsea School of Art to study public art and design. I explored all kinds of craft skills including mosaics, stained glass, decorative ceramics and textiles. Shortly after my degree I became a mother and put all my creative life into our young family. In 1993 we moved to Mexico where I continued to work and teach as a decorative painter for the next 4 years. We returned with our 3 children and chose to settle in Devon.
